Luke 10 is a key scripture for invitation, and it reminds us that we are a vehicle of God's grace and peace. Jesus reassures us too that we have nothing to loose, as if we offer the peace, and it is not received in a moment of God's grace it comes back to us so that we may make the next invitation.

Mission is a battle of the mind. Deep within us there is an insecurity that we have nothing to offer. And this is true to the extent that the message is not ours. However, we need to make a decision as to whether the message is true. When we feel that it is true, when we allow the Holy Spirit to convict us that it is a pearl, then we will feel compelled to offer the invitation. And within our Spirit there will be a restlessness unless we are offering that invitation.

Most of all we take heart from Luke 10 that we are good enough. Jesus sent 70 "un-named, anonymous" disciples, not the 12. We, the multitude of un-named disciples best understand our context. Take heart the message will be received, and we must stay where the message is received, eating and drinking what THEY give us. When the time is not right for a group we move on, and find a family that is ready.
